Smashing Dumplings - Gastrogrind (2011)
Moskovská farma Coyote Recods má nového grindcoreového čuníka, a opäť raz českého. Prvý bod dostávajú Smashing Dumplings za názov, druhý za originálny, hoci megastrelený textový, alebo skôr ideologický koncept. Som asi konzervatívec a grind core mám rád, keď sa nesnaží nejapne (dosť často trápne) vtipkovať, ale poklona českému národnému pokrmu a jeho mnohým podobám je, keď už teda chce skupina pristupovať k veci s „nadhľadom a vtipom“, o niekoľko tisíc percent lepší nápad než váľanie sa v čurákoch, ritných vencoch, produktoch jedného i druhého, rôzne spájanie všetkých týchto elementov do pozoruhodných kompozícií v rámci „porno-toaletnej estetiky“ a podobné príbehy, pri ktorých si „wtf?!“ povedia asi aj Beavis a Butthead. Texty v booklete nie sú, takže netuším, či sa u SD naozaj spievajú eposy typu „dvacet deka polohrubé mouky zaděláme s vejcem, mlékem a droždím“, ani to, či ich písala Magdaléna Dobromila alebo Pohlreich, ale ak sa nebudeme rýpať v tomto, zostane nám pomerne solídna hudobná omáčka k zbožštenému vrcholu českej gastronómie. 14 skladieb prináša agresívny a surový grind core na pomedzí klasického grindovania okolo Napalm Death-Carcass-Regurgitate a skočných „umca-umca“ gore tancov, kde vyniknú bicie (Bális je o.i. dlhoročným bubeníkom blackmetalových Unclean), ktoré majú poriadny ťah, výborne klepú, odsýpajú v stredných rytmoch a energicky skáču v „polkách“. Osobne mi v niektorých najrýchlejších momentoch znejú akosi „automaticky“, ale nebol by to prvý prípad, kedy by človek stojaci za dverami skúšobne čakal automat, a pri nazretí na miesto činu by zistil, že ten sa nekoná. Oslovuje ma aj „buldozérový“ zvuk zbustrovanej basy, a gitary, ktoré v zásade hrajú štandardy brutálneho grindu, sú takisto v poriadku, nič prevratné nepredvádzajú, ale celok je hudobne chytľavý a publikum v kotle iste strasie nejeden skonzumovaný knedlík. Vokálne podanie menu je v rôznych grúliacich, revaných a chrochtaných tónoch, do ktorých sa tu a tam zavrieska a zaškvrčí. S intrami sa nikto nemaže, je tu jedno, myslím že ho dodali Slavnosti sněženek a týka sa samozrejme debaty na kľúčovú tému albumu. Napriek v podstate nevážnej tematike skladby prinášajú viacero extrémnych grindových náklepov a zmes surového drvenia a skočných momentov podporuje aj kvalitný, surový, ale čitateľný zvuk, takže SD navarili stráviteľne a porcia je tak akurát.
